Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world shared its support for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
