Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce full details during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates suggested the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 contract workers.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
