Under-fire boss Ange Postecoglou presented a passionate defence regarding his track record as he vowed to secure honors at Nottingham Forest provided with patience

The veteran coach faces scrutiny having been unable to win a single one of his opening seven games since replacing the former manager last month

The club has been reviewing their options during the international break, and former Clarets coach Sean Dyche a potential option considered to possibly take over despite Postecoglou only being appointed for barely over a month

Forest faces the London club on Saturday and Postecoglou gave a five-minute monologue at his pre-match news conference, as Forest sitting 17th in the top division

"Certain people focus at the weeds while I observe at the progress being made," he stated, "I'm genuinely enthusiastic because I possess a group of young players ready to evolve"

He also confirmed he hadn't communicated with the chairman the Greek businessman over the recent pause

"I refuse to spend my energy on what people think" he emphasized

"I genuinely don't match, not just at Forest, throughout football" he clarified

Prior Management Role

"I became manager of the North London club and was informed from the owner back then 'this team must secure honors'"

"He commented 'we attempted to appoint proven winners, the Special One and Antonio [Conte] and it hasn't worked, we must have an alternative method'"

"I was slightly offended by those words because I see myself as a winner"

Justifying His Performance

"We finished fifth my first year" he recalled

"On each occasion Harry Kane scored a goal I often thought he had remained one more year because it would have been beneficial to keep his services after finishing fifth"

"Yet somehow that campaign has vanished from historical accounts" he asserted

Looking Forward

"So, we get to the current space where there's another perspective to share, that maybe I'm not a failed manager who got lucky to get this job"

"but perhaps I'm a leader that when allowed opportunity, the tale invariably finishes the same"

"With every team I've managed, it ends the same - alongside me and a trophy"

Postecoglou won European silverware in May - their first piece of silverware in nearly two decades along with their initial continental honor for 41

The ex-Celtic boss likewise vowed, provided with patience, he would maintain his record of securing silverware throughout his managerial career
