Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
